About the role

  • Compliance / Legal Officer providing critical compliance and legal support at Bureau Veritas. Evaluating contracts, conducting investigations, and advising on corporate governance in various sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compliance training and advice
  • Support compliance program and activities rolled out by Head Office including but not limited to Annual Compliance Declaration
  • Conduct investigation and provide recommendation on potential breach of Code of Ethics reported under whistleblowing system and other channels
  • Review and negotiate client contracts to align with Bureau Veritas principles and good contracting standards.
  • Manage corporate governance activities, including maintaining registers and supporting Boards and Company Secretaries.
  • Provide legal support across insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes, and compliance reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws degree, with related experience (preferably 2-5 years of experience).
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Will to work hard and be flexible in terms of timing and context
  • Ability to learn and adjust in a short period of time
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong contract review and negotiation skills, with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and build strong stakeholder relationships.
