About the role

  • Assistant Attorney General representing and defending Massachusetts in civil lawsuits. Active caseload involves drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing in superior and federal courts.

Responsibilities

  • Represent and defend the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in civil lawsuits
  • Maintain an active caseload including drafting pleadings and conducting discovery
  • Prepare and argue dispositive motions
  • Try cases in the superior and federal courts

Requirements

  • Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar
  • At least five (5) years of civil litigation experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing a large and varied caseload, preferred
  • Must have access to reliable transportation or a valid driver's license.
