About the role

  • Conduct Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) in a variety of premises, including high-risk and sleeping accommodation.
  • Undertake compartmentation and fire door surveys, providing clear, actionable reports.
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation and guidance, including: Approved Document B Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 BS 9999 and BS 9991.
  • Provide expert advice to clients and internal teams on fire safety strategies and compliance.
  • Support junior consultants through mentoring and technical guidance.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Travel regionally and nationally as required.

Requirements

  • Demonstratable experience in fire risk assessments, including complex and sleeping risk premises.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Fire Safety (or equivalent).
  • Accreditation with at least one of the following: IFE, IFSM, FRACS, IFPO.
  • Strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation and standards.
  • Experience with compartmentation and fire door inspections.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Desirable: Health and safety qualifications.
  • Desirable: Membership with IOSH or IIRSM.
