About the role
- Senior Fire Safety Consultant within Bureau Veritas’ International Risk & Safety Team. Delivering high-quality fire risk assessments and consultancy services across a diverse portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) in a variety of premises, including high-risk and sleeping accommodation.
- Undertake compartmentation and fire door surveys, providing clear, actionable reports.
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation and guidance, including: Approved Document B Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 BS 9999 and BS 9991.
- Provide expert advice to clients and internal teams on fire safety strategies and compliance.
- Support junior consultants through mentoring and technical guidance.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Travel regionally and nationally as required.
Requirements
- Demonstratable experience in fire risk assessments, including complex and sleeping risk premises.
- Level 3 Diploma in Fire Safety (or equivalent).
- Accreditation with at least one of the following: IFE, IFSM, FRACS, IFPO.
- Strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation and standards.
- Experience with compartmentation and fire door inspections.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Desirable: Health and safety qualifications.
- Desirable: Membership with IOSH or IIRSM.
