About the role
- Field Service Engineer providing installation, maintenance, and repair on medical devices. Collaborating with customers and sales teams to ensure effective operational support.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of mechanical, electromechanical, and software-based instruments
- Tasks include installation, repair, calibration, cleaning, and testing of instruments
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, review solutions, discuss needs, and ensure safe operational conditions
- Actively support the sale of service contracts, collaborate with sales representatives and service team members on system configurations, upgrades, installations, and moves
- Complete service administration activities promptly, adhering to ISO, FDA, and BD policies
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or Technical School equivalent
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Collaboration with sales representatives and service team members
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments preferred
- Previous experience in diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments is a plus
- Bachelor of Science in a related field preferred
- Experience in a lab or hospital environment
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight stays based on business needs
- Lifting requirements - Ability to lift objects weighing up to 30-40 lbs. from the floor to chest level
- Ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to carry a pack weighing up to 30 lb. on your back for up to 1 hour
- Tool Use - Proficient in operating powered drills, screwdrivers, and saws
- Able to climb and lift portable ladders and step stools
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks while reaching over an 8–10-hour day
- Must be able to pass a fit test and annual spirometry for respirator use
