About the role
- Solution Architect supporting design and assurance for core internal systems within BAE Systems. Contributing to the transition roadmap and collaborating with stakeholders for early solutions.
Responsibilities
- support the design and assurance of solution architectures for core internal systems
- contribute to the development of a pragmatic, risk-aware transition roadmap
- assist in embedding cloud-infrastructure expertise covering public, private, and hybrid environments
- help produce integration and data-flow diagrams
- document technical constraints and risks
- prepare assurance evidence for Architecture Review Boards
- collaborate with stakeholders to evolve early solutions
Requirements
- Experience in technical analysis or solution design within IT environments
- Understanding of architecture modelling techniques
- Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts
- Proficiency with architecture modelling tools (e.g., Bizzdesign)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail and evidence-led approach
- Ability to document technical constraints, risks, and dependencies clearly and concisely
- Minimum SC clearance; DV may be required.
- Exposure to enterprise IT platforms, such as ServiceNow
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud provider tooling (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)
- Professional certifications such as TOGAF Foundation, AWS/Azure/GCP Fundamentals
