About the role

• Editorial Manager leading a reporting team for regional journalism in Lörrach/Weil. Overseeing editorial workflow and engaging with local stakeholders for content creation.

Responsibilities

• You will lead a reporting team operating in the Lörrach/Weil distribution area.
• You will plan editorial work both in terms of content and resource allocation.
• You will develop and adapt topics in a user-focused, audience-appropriate way for our various channels, taking into account all journalistic formats.
• You will maintain contacts with decision makers and key local multipliers and, where appropriate, represent the Badische Zeitung at events.
• You will ensure the smooth operation of editorial workflows leading into production.

Requirements

• You are passionate about contemporary, research-driven local journalism.
• You plan topics with a user-centered, audience-appropriate approach across formats and channels.
• You have a clear journalistic compass and a high standard of quality for your own work and that of the team you are responsible for.
• You have a deep understanding of the issues and the people of the High Rhine and the tri-border region.
• You have excellent knowledge and experience in digital journalism and are familiar with the technical processes involved in producing a daily newspaper.
• Using data analysis and AI tools is part of your everyday work.
• You are open to change and enjoy improving processes and ways of working.
• As a leader, you provide direction while leaving room for constructive discussion.
• You are able to motivate and support your team even during periods of high workload.
