Responsibilities
Applies engineering concepts and theories to deliver the development of designs, calculations and technical solutions for Babcock products and services across the Engineering Product Lifecycle
Works independently with occasional supervision, seeking guidance for complex situations
Develops learning, skills and experience within discipline/domain
Provides mentoring to others
Supports the Royal Navy Submarine Fleet across Structures, Naval Architecture, Seamanship, Outfitting, and Design Change disciplines
Works on a wide range of projects involving submarine structures across the defence sector
Conducts structural assessments using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis
Involves in design and assessment for explosive shock survivability
Manages and assesses structural defects
Engages in structural safety certification and support to future platform projects
Requirements
Degree qualified in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
Interest in structural engineering
Strong communication and organisational skills
A willingness to learn and develop your technical expertise
