Play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of mission-critical systems, supporting both UK defence and export customers.
Work on a variety of complex engineering projects, contributing to the development, assessment, and assurance of safety across the system lifecycle.
Develop and maintain Safety Case Reports, including supporting analyses such as Hazard Analysis and Functional Failure Analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., DEF STAN 00-56).
Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses for systems and subsystems.
Provide expert advice on safety engineering processes and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Support the integration of safety into system design and development activities and participate in design reviews, audits, and safety working groups.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including MOD clients, to ensure safety requirements are met.
Requirements
Experience in safety engineering within a high-integrity or regulated environment (e.g., defence, automotive, aerospace, rail or nuclear).
Familiarity with safety standards and legislation relevant to mission systems.
Good verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement skills.
Degree in Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Registration as a Professional Engineer working towards Incorporated and Chartered Engineer.
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
