About the role

  • Spearhead injury management and return-to-work strategies for Babcock's Marine business.
  • Provide expert guidance on injury prevention and health management.
  • Reporting directly to the Head of Health, Safety, Environment Quality and S, continue to develop and provide ongoing maintenance of the occupational health framework.
  • Deliver the key occupation health management capabilities of injury management, return to work plans, fitness for work, psychosocial hazards and risk management.
  • Lead, coach, guide and mentor the Occupational Health Team.
  • Enable teams to manage injuries effectively, facilitate returns to work, conduct fitness assessments, and mitigate psychosocial hazards.
  • Provide guidance to staff and managers navigating health challenges, contributing to Babcock's broader HSEQ strategy through health monitoring programs, ergonomic assessments, and medical evaluations.

Requirements

  • Ideally, you’ll have a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Exercise Physiology, Exercise and Sport Science, or a related field with experience in an Injury Management and Health and Safety role in a similar industry.
  • Ideally you will have a Cert IV in Safety or experience in Hygiene.
  • Importantly you’ll have gained in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices related to injury management and possess a current First Aid Certificate and strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles.
  • You will also be an Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
