About the role

  • UI Designer at Avvoka transforming legal documentation processes through thoughtful design and intuitive interfaces. Collaborating with teams to ensure high-quality, accessible product design in Prague, Czechia.

Responsibilities

  • Design polished, high-performing UI
  • Turn complex workflows into clean, intuitive interfaces that feel calm under pressure
  • Create thoughtful information hierarchy, layouts, and interaction patterns across the product
  • Use feedback and product data to iterate quickly and raise the bar on usability
  • Own craft in Figma
  • Build and maintain reusable components, patterns, and libraries to speed up delivery
  • Keep files tidy, scalable, and easy for others to use (design tokens, variants, naming, documentation)
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs translate crisply into implementation
  • Strengthen the product’s design system
  • Evolve a consistent visual language across surfaces (components, typography, spacing, states)
  • Bake in accessibility best practices (contrast, focus states, keyboard navigation, semantics)
  • Define guidelines so the whole team can ship UI that feels unmistakably Avvoka
  • Explore AI-assisted workflows (e.g., faster prototyping, content exploration, UI alternatives) responsibly
  • Partner with Product/Engineering to shape AI experiences that keep users in control

Requirements

  • Strong UI craft, with a portfolio that shows clean visual design and clear decision-making
  • High proficiency in Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, libraries, prototyping, design systems)
  • Comfort collaborating cross-functionally — you communicate clearly, take feedback well, and move work forward
  • Good judgement: you balance speed with quality, and you know when to go deep vs. keep it simple
  • An AI-curious mindset — you’re interested in how AI can improve product experiences and your own workflow
  • Bonus points if:
  • • You’ve worked on complex B2B products (dense data, permissions, multi-step workflows)
  • • You’ve contributed to accessibility improvements or formalised UI guidelines
  • • You can prototype interactions beyond static screens (micro-interactions, motion principles, prototypes)
  • • You have experience in legal tech, document tools, or collaboration platforms

Benefits

  • Clear scope of work, with clear success criteria and meaningful deliverables
  • Ability to invoice via own company / umbrella / sole trader
  • Autonomy over how and when work is delivered
  • Access to necessary systems, tools, and documentation
  • Opportunity to work on complex, high-impact problems
  • Exposure to enterprise / scale-up environments
  • Ability to shape systems, processes, or architecture
