About the role
- DevOps Engineer developing and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure for physics simulation products at AVL. Collaborating with a team on technical projects in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of products in the area of physics simulations.
- Develop and maintain the CI/CD infrastructure (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Deploy multi-platform desktop applications.
- Port and customize open-source libraries for specific environments (Linux, Windows, real-time OS) and compilers (MSVC, GCC, Intel C++ Compiler, ...).
- Create automation scripts and smaller GUI components for products using Python.
Requirements
- Enjoy getting to know diverse technologies used in DevOps.
- Intermediate knowledge of Python.
- In-depth understanding of platforms and operating systems.
- Attention to detail in design and implementation.
- Experience in large-scale software development.
- Open to new technologies.
- Fluent in English.
- Preferably have a university degree in computer science, software development or similar.
- Preferably familiar with building large C/C++ projects using industry-standard build systems (CMake, Meson) and package managers (Conan, vcpkg, python package managers)
- CI/CD tools/pipelines and code management systems (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab-CI, Azure DevOps (TFS), Git, Artifactory, Jenkins)
- Containerization and orchestration of containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS)
- Configuration Management (Ansible).
