About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead administration, configuration, and optimization of the University’s accounting system and related financial applications, including purchasing, budgeting, travel, student accounts, and fixed assets.
- Participate in the evaluation, selection, implementation, and ongoing support of a replacement ERP system.
- Ensure accounting systems support accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP.
- Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and reporting tools to support leadership decision-making.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and reporting enhancements.
- Serve as primary liaison between finance, IT, and system vendors for system upgrades, integrations, and issue resolution.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring accuracy and availability of financial system data and reports.
- Assist with general ledger support, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
- Collaborate with departments across the University to ensure financial systems meet institutional and operational needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience managing and working with enterprise accounting systems (ERP platforms).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Experience with ERP implementations or system conversions (preferred).
- Experience in higher education, healthcare, or nonprofit organizations (preferred).
- Experience developing dashboards or modern financial reporting tools (preferred).
