About the role

  • PMO Consultant enabling delivery across critical secure-government projects in the UK. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive project success and enhance delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • As a PMO Consultant within our Delivery Optimisation sub-practice, you’ll be a central force in shaping and strengthening delivery capability across some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile secure-government programmes.
  • You’ll bring clarity, structure and insight to multidisciplinary teams, applying your expertise across financial management, risk and issue control, planning, governance and performance reporting to ensure projects run with confidence and precision.
  • Working at the heart of major programmes, you’ll design and embed effective delivery controls, translate data into meaningful insights, and advise teams and stakeholders on the health and trajectory of their projects.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with clients, project managers, engineers and analysts to improve delivery maturity, influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement across portfolios.
  • Whether refining governance frameworks, leading financial reporting cycles, developing integrated plans or shaping PMO standards, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling effective, transparent and accountable delivery.
  • For senior candidates, this also includes opportunities to lead PMO workstreams, steer stakeholder conversations, mentor junior professionals and help shape the future of PMO capability within the Secure Government community.

Requirements

  • Broad experience of project, programme and portfolio governance, and must include strong PMO leadership, financial management and/or risk management capabilities.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Experience using a range of delivery tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Power BI, Excel etc.
  • A proactive, analytical and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Understanding of PMO frameworks (P3O), methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid), and controls.
  • Ability to design PMO processes, reporting structures or governance models.
  • Experience coaching or developing junior team members.
