About the role

  • Consultant leading training and development initiatives for Municipal Licensing and Standards in Toronto. Responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating training programs across various roles.

Responsibilities

  • Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.
  • Develops and delivers training that supports quality client service.
  • Models leadership behaviours in the workplace and in the classroom.
  • Identifies training and development needs within the division.
  • Works proactively with management to assess and identify root cause of performance issues.
  • Consults with managers and supervisors to identify required and actual performance.
  • Develops and conducts training evaluations and related activities.
  • Develops and implements a learning plan for staff returning to work after an extended absence.
  • Delivers training in response to evaluation outcomes.
  • Provides on-site training and support for new technologies and business changes.
  • Undertakes research and analysis on issues related to workplace training.

Requirements

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources, Adult Education, Educational Technology, or Instructional Design or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Considerable experience in large complex organizations developing learning implementation strategies.
  • Considerable experience designing, delivering and evaluating course/curriculum classroom-based learning and/or e-Learning.
  • Experience coordinating and scheduling large-scale, enterprise-wide or cross-divisional training programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing, procurement and management of vendors is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of bylaws, policies and standard operating procedures to design, develop, facilitate and evaluate training for service operations will be considered an asset.
  • Strong customer service, stakeholder and relationship management skills.
