About the role

  • Personal Preparedness Program Consultant developing the Be Prepared program through planning and research. Collaborating with teams to create public education and resilience programming in Alberta.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the delivery of a trusted emergency preparedness program in Alberta
  • Contributes to research development
  • Creates public education and awareness messaging for Albertans
  • Leads and participates in projects, committees, and working groups with other government departments

Requirements

  • University degree in Disaster and Emergency Management, Communications, Environmental Science or related
  • 2 years related experience or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta’s emergency management framework, legislation, plans, and operational guidelines
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate programs and projects with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Skill in building and maintaining relationships with diverse partners
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/M365 and intermediate Adobe Acrobat skills
