Responsibilities
- Performs quality engineering/continuous improvement functions in support of total quality management using various tools.
- Support implementation of continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Uses quality information systems to access, collect, analyze, and distribute results.
- Supports all aspects of the quality system, including planning, control, improvement, and the application of product and process control methods.
- Recommends improvements or changes to enhance production quality in a preventive mode.
- Helps maintain a sustainable quality management system.
- Supports root cause investigation and implementation of corrective actions.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities in product quality and manufacturability through effective use of LEAN tools.
- Conducts quality audits, including process and finished goods audits.
- Generates quality improvement suggestions and coaches others to generate ideas.
- Assists with implementation of adopted suggestions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school required, preferably Quality, Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Zero to two years quality/continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical background with hands‑on experience in electronic systems
- Holds IPC certification for electronic assembly and workmanship standards desired.
- Basic understanding of Blueprint reading desired.
- Basic understanding of Lean Methodology desired.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
