About the role

  • Senior PLM 1 responsible for global product vision and creation of seasonal assortments at Arc'teryx. Aligning strategies with merchandising and market opportunities for consumer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the global, long-range vision and the creation of profitable seasonal assortments and line plans across assigned product categories
  • Align strategies with the overall merchandising strategy and support company goals by focusing on consumer needs and brand opportunities to bring innovative solutions to market
  • Partner with the Merchant team to deliver product lines that support overall Design creative direction, while driving company sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity goals
  • Develop and sustain relationships with Design and Development teams during the seasonal design process to ensure products are aligned with the briefs proposed
  • Own the global go-to-market product knowledge and provide Global Commercial teams and partners with sell-in tools and product information consistently across all channels
  • Uphold Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years’ experience in outdoor retail or customer service, merchandising, product development, wholesale and/or retail buying roles, and 2+ years’ experience leading a team or a function
  • Excellent knowledge sell through, calculating cost of goods, and the open to buy process
  • Highly organized, able to effectively manage your time, and possess strong analytical, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, able to facilitate work across many different internal departments and external key accounts and vendors
  • Creative and strategic thinker, an ‘influencer’, a consensus builder, and excellent team player
  • Proven track record in developing and leading a team in the execution of a multi-year business strategy
  • Excellent understanding of the active apparel market within the outdoor industry, and the key outdoor activities we make product for
  • Excellent understanding of the design and development process
  • Excellent in the use of Adobe and Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Willing and able to travel as required (trade shows, key dealer presentations, key vendor meetings, core consumer events, etc.)
  • Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • Effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • Inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
