About the role

  • Transportation Analyst conducting transportation impact studies and related analyses for urban development. Collaborating with architects and urban planners on projects within BC.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting transportation impact studies and related analyses for residential, commercial, and employment developments across Western Canada
  • Performing traffic operations reviews and capacity analyses
  • Conducting parking demand reviews, travel demand management, and road user safety studies
  • Involving in roadway planning and design studies, assessments of existing transportation facilities
  • Preparing technical reports and documentation for current and prospective projects
  • Serving in a client-facing capacity by preparing for and attending meetings, as well as developing meeting summaries
  • Delivering high quality on all technical deliverables
  • Using professional judgment to identify and resolve technical problems
  • Contributing to client and project success by focusing on improving quality of life and putting sustainability at the core of all you do
  • Applying technical analysis, report writing, and other skills to deliver projects on-time and on-budget
  • Regular coordination with project managers and team members to align project goals, project progress, and deliverables
  • Attending internal and external multidisciplinary project team meetings, site visits, and other meetings, as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in civil engineering
  • Eligible for professional designation/certification
  • 0-3 years experience
  • Strong working knowledge of AB/BC Traffic Manual, Highway Capacity Manual, Synchro, and other recognized transportation standards and reference materials
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, AutoTURN, VISSIM
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to excellence and high-quality work
  • Able to apply a context-sensitive approach to resolving conflicts between competing project goals
  • Able to manage effort on multiple simultaneous projects in an environment with firm deadlines
  • Ability to regularly attend site visits and client meetings in person in the Greater Vancouver Area
