About the role
- Project Manager with engineering background managing building projects at Arcadis. Overseeing project delivery and ensuring compliance with design specifications and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage project delivery including defining project scope, specifying deliverables, estimating and controlling project duration, effort and cost
- Manage industrial, commercial and institutional building projects from start of design to completion of construction
- Ensure all deliverables are delivered on time and within budget
- Drive an attitude within project teams to deliver solutions, resolving issues and risks as they arise
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, attend construction meetings
- Oversee and ensure contract administration deliverables are completed in accordance with client requirements
- Review contractor activities in accordance with the contract documents and requirements
- Provide oversight and confirmation of completed contract quantities
- Supervise and perform quality assurance acceptance and inspection of construction works
- Liaise with the contractor and client representatives
- Chair and lead project meetings
- Negotiate price agreements, change orders, claims and work directives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
- Minimum 10+ years full time experience in Project Management with projects related to industrial, commercial and institutional buildings
- Ability to read and interpret contracts and contract documents
- Automotive industry experience is an asset
- Registered or eligible to be registered with Professional Engineers considered an asset
- PMP Project Management Professional certification completed or in progress is desired
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must be familiar with current software - Bluebeam, AutoCAD
- Proficient in Excel and Word (Office Suite)
- A vehicle and valid Driver’s License to travel to the site around the Calgary Metropolitan Region
