Assistant Resident Engineer supporting sustainability initiatives for the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project. Help deliver excellence on one of the most complex infrastructure initiatives in the United States.
Responsibilities
Assist with REIM-focused sustainability workshops and design charrettes for project teams
Help refine and maintain sustainability specifications, checklists, and guidance documents
Assist in preparing training and educational materials in support of REIM’s goal of building capacity among the future workforce, small businesses, and other stakeholders
Attend construction management (CM) meetings and participate in periodic site visits
Support orientation sessions for CM teams and contractors on sustainability/REIM requirements
Assist in coordinating and tracking construction submittals, ensuring they are routed to the appropriate team members for review in alignment with REIM specifications
Help organize and track sustainability documentation provided by contractors in support of GDC’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI) dashboard
Assist in preparing submissions to the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Sciences, or related field (recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience)
Demonstrated interest in sustainability, green building, or infrastructure (coursework, internships, or research experience welcome)
Familiarity with LEED, Envision, or related frameworks preferred; interest in learning GDC’s REIM framework required
Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to project management or data visualization tools a plus
