Cloud Engineer involved in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud workloads. Contract-to-permanent opportunity with hybrid work arrangement three days in Louisville, KY and two days remotely.
Responsibilities
The Cloud Engineer will be involved in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based workloads.
Design, implement, and manage cloud solutions utilizing suitable AWS services.
Possess AWS DBA experience with relational databases (SQL/RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL) and have working knowledge of NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
Carry out routine database administration tasks including model updates, backups, restores, data patching, and upgrades.
Manage ETL tools like Matillion and AWS Glue effectively.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for troubleshooting and knowledge sharing purposes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strategize migration of on-premises workloads to AWS.
Deploy and oversee AWS infrastructure components, including EC2 instances, Lambda functions, S3 buckets, RDS databases, and other native AWS services.
Automate various processes and tasks using Pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
Monitor and resolve issues in cloud infrastructure and applications to ensure optimal availability, reliability, and security.
Partner with cross-functional teams to understand workload needs and deliver appropriate technical solutions.
Continuously assess and enhance the performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of cloud infrastructures.
Design and enforce business continuity and high availability strategies for AWS workloads.
Deliver outstanding customer service while demonstrating strong communication skills.
Adhere strictly to company policies regarding technology usage and security standards with a high level of accountability.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements
At least 4-7 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS services.
In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as SQL/RDS, Lamba, S3, VPC’s, CloudWatch and experience with cloud security, automation, and monitoring tools.
Snowflake and Matillion administration experience is a plus.
Experience with on-premise Microsoft SQL Administration
AWS Certifications are a plus.
PowerBI administration is a plus.
Ability to write and maintain scripts using languages such as Python, Java, or PowerShell.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
