Senior Financial Accountant managing financial reporting and compliance for Amer Sports' Australian operations. Supporting D2C channel growth while partnering with global stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Own and deliver accurate financial reporting in line with Australian regulations, Group requirements, and IFRS
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations, fixed assets, tax, and intercompany transactions
Support and optimise financial operations across the D2C channel (new store setup, capex, revenue recognition, inventory, stocktakes)
Provide meaningful financial analysis and insights to senior leadership to support decision-making
Oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure strong cash flow and financial control
Lead internal and external audits and maintain SOX-compliant internal control frameworks
Partner with Shared Services in Europe to ensure seamless financial processes
Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales, Marketing, Retail, Supply Chain, IT, and HR
Contribute to regional and global finance projects as the business evolves
Requirements
Strong technical accounting knowledge (Australian GAAP/IFRS and local tax requirements)
Solid understanding of SOX and internal controls
Proven experience in financial compliance, governance, and risk management
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, OneStream or similar)
Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate numbers into commercial insights
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the confidence to take ownership
Leadership capability with the ability to guide and mentor others
CA or CPA qualified
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience in D2C, retail, sporting, or multi-channel environments (Retail, B2B, E-commerce) highly regarded
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment with shared services structures
