About the role

  • Managing server administration team and contributing to server architecture and infrastructure evolution at American Savings Bank. Ensuring stable, secure, and scalable systems while leading team development.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops server infrastructure team while actively contributing to the architecture and evolution of enterprise server and compute platforms to install, patch, configure, customize, troubleshoot, upgrade, integrate, and maintain systems, software, port configuration, host-based firewalls, and peripherals.
  • This role ensures stable, secure, and scalable systems through operational excellence, forward-thinking design, and collaborative leadership that promotes urgency, accountability, and a positive team culture.
  • Oversees daily operations of server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of all systems.
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs/SLAs for uptime, patching, incident response, and system performance.
  • Ensures effective 24/7 operational support for critical systems with rapid issue resolution.
  • Serves as a hands-on infrastructure architect for server, virtualization, and storage platforms (on-prem and cloud).
  • Collaborates with server engineering teammates to help with the design and evolution of scalable, resilient, and secure server environments.
  • Helps define and enforce architecture standards for compute, storage, OS platforms, and system integrations.
  • Evaluates and implements modern technologies (e.g., virtualization, cloud, automation, containerization where applicable).
  • Partners with network and security teams to ensure holistic infrastructure design.
  • Develops and executes a server infrastructure roadmap aligned with business and IT strategy.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation, optimization, and modernization (patching, provisioning, monitoring, etc.).
  • Balances tactical operational needs with long-term platform improvements.
  • Collaborates closely with network, security, application, and cloud teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
  • Acts as a key liaison between technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Promotes a collaborative, team-first environment that encourages transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Leads critical incident response with a calm, decisive, and urgency-driven approach.
  • Ensures disciplined change management practices with minimal risk to production systems.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and implements preventative measures to improve system reliability.
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops team members in both technical and professional skillsets.
  • Fosters a positive, inclusive, and high-morale team culture that values accountability and continuous learning.
  • Leads by example with a proactive, solution-oriented, and adaptable mindset.
  • Encourages innovation while maintaining operational discipline.
  • Ensures systems adhere to security policies, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Oversees patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening.
  • Maintains and validates backup and disaster recovery strategies to meet RTO/RPO objectives.
  • Manages infrastructure budget including hardware, licensing, and support contracts.
  • Evaluates vendors and solutions to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience in server/infrastructure administration
  • 3+ years leading or managing technical teams (preferred)
  • Proven experience in: Production operations leadership, and Server/infrastructure architecture and design
  • Experience managing enterprise environments with high availability requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and inspire high performance.
  • Ability to operate with urgency while maintaining quality and strategic alignment
  • Deep technical expertise in: Server operating systems (Windows/Linux)
  • Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Storage/SAN technologies
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar)
  • Proven ability to balance hands-on architecture with operational leadership.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially in high-pressure production environments.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, engaged, and accountable team culture.
  • Professional Certifications, Licenses, And/or Registration Requirements Microsoft, VMware, or Linux certifications (preferred).
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) are a plus.
