About the role

  • Project Manager supporting neuroscience research projects at the Allen Institute. Collaborating with teams to manage deliverables and securing funding for brain health initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Project Manager to ensure the successful execution of project deliverables
  • Support cross-functional teams throughout the project life cycle
  • Plan and organize internal and external project meetings
  • Contribute to fiscal management of the project
  • Implement communication plans to promote effective dialogue among all team members
  • Facilitate and support preparation for internal and external project reviews
  • Partner with scientific staff to develop competitive external funding applications

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in biological sciences or equivalent combination of degree and experience
  • strong preference towards Neuroscience domain knowledge
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Project Manager for Ph.D. degree holders
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience for M.S. degree holders
  • Proficient in the use of project management, collaboration management and efficiency software tools
  • Experience with fiscal management of projects
  • Prefer 5 years of experience for Ph.D. holders and 6-10 years for M.S. holders
  • Formal Project Management training and PMP certification is desirable
  • Experience planning, coordinating and launching new projects
  • Understanding of cell type characterization technologies is a plus
