Responsibilities
Lead end ‑ to ‑ end procurement activities for a diverse range of goods and services, ensuring compliance with legislation, trade agreements, and ministry policies.
Provide informed procurement advice to ministry stakeholders, helping define requirements, assess risks, and select effective procurement strategies.
Develop and manage competitive procurement processes, including preparing RFx documents, supporting evaluations, and ensuring award recommendations are documented.
Draft and finalize procurement contracts and amendments, ensuring terms are clear, enforceable, and compliant.
Ensure accurate procurement documentation and maintain contract workspaces within the 1GX ERP system throughout the project lifecycle.
Support continuous improvement by contributing to procurement policies, best practices, and process enhancements.
Build strong relationships with internal clients, vendors, and cross‑government partners to support fair, transparent, and effective procurement.
Requirements
University degree in a related field, such as Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or Education, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
Experience with public‑sector procurement or Government of Alberta procurement processes.
Knowledge of RFx development, evaluation methodologies, and contract administration.
Knowledge of trade agreements as they relate to the procurement of Goods and Services within the public sector.
