About the role

  • Lakota Fleet Configuration Manager overseeing configuration control and obsolescence for U.S. Army aviation program with a focus on engineering management and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic linchpin for the U.S. Army’s Lakota aviation program
  • Take command of configuration control and obsolescence management for 480+ aircraft
  • Act as the primary focal point for the U.S. Army Product Office
  • Hold the 'go/no-go' authority on critical engineering changes
  • Oversee a portfolio valued at billions of dollars
  • Manage multi-million dollar annual spends to ensure the fleet remains mission-ready and airworthy
  • Liaise weekly with Engineering, Procurement, Program Management, and Work Preparation teams
  • Communicate program concerns to stakeholders regarding the impact of proposed ECRs/ECPs
  • Chair monthly Joint Change Boards and ensure notification of all affected parties
  • Execute a proactive obsolescence monitoring and management program
  • Maintain standard airframe and engine configuration lists and update Fleet Configuration Status Reports
  • Liaise with the Government Fleet Configuration Manager to coordinate efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience related to Aerospace Maintenance or Engineering
  • Ten (10) years' experience in aviation maintenance, engineering, or configuration control
  • Working knowledge of configuration management, lifecycle sustainment, supply chain, engineering support, or obsolescence-related processes
  • Proficiency in FAA (Part 21, Part 25, Part 145) or EASA regulations
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools like Teamcenter, Enovia, or Solidworks PDM to manage Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as EIA-649 (Configuration Management) and ARP4754A (Guidelines for Development of Civil Aircraft)
  • Ability to lead Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECP)
  • Expertise in tracking Service Bulletins (SB) and Airworthiness Directives (AD) across a fleet to ensure compliance.
