About the role
- Senior Analyst handling pricing and valuation for renewable energy transactions at AES Corporation. Supporting commercial structuring and contract negotiations in the energy market.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and price renewable, energy storage, and hybrid transactions
- Support commercial structuring and contract negotiations by providing analytical insights on pricing, risk allocation, and key value drivers
- Ensure transaction valuations are aligned with AES Clean Energy’s power market views
- Develop, maintain, and enhance commercial and deal-level models
- Implement model improvements and automation to reduce turnaround times
- Partner with Risk Management to support internal model validation, risk quantification, and governance processes
- Develop a strong understanding of commercial drivers, market dynamics, and regulatory factors impacting AES Clean Energy’s portfolio
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in energy, renewables, power markets, or related analytical roles
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of U.S. power markets (PJM, CAISO, ERCOT preferred)
- Hands‑on experience using at least one programming or analytical language (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, VBA)
- Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical or analytical discipline (preferred)
- Experience with renewable asset revenue modeling and operating characteristics (preferred)
- Experience with battery energy storage system (BESS) optimization or hybrid energy systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with commercial deal processes, structured transactions, or ETRM systems (preferred)
