About the role
- Network Engineer providing offsite support for Vestas' wind power network connectivity. Responsible for remote troubleshooting and integration with the Vestas network.
Responsibilities
- Offsite network support assisting customers to make sure that they can connect to the Vestas network
- Remote Configuration, installation, and upgrade of network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network devices in the Wind Power Plants (WPP)
- Facilitate wind farm integration to Vestas network
- Maintain network uptime by reactive remote troubleshooting
- User management for Cisco network devices
- High-quality support, i.e., short response time and high-resolution rate
- Ticket resolution (incident resolution, request fulfillment)
- Provides input for continuous operations improvement
- Involvement in Projects
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT, or equivalent
- Professional experience maintaining real-world production systems
- Understanding of Cisco ISE (LDAP, REST APIs), IPSec VPN, DMVPN, and device authentication (IEEE 802.1x)
- At least two (2) years of extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers
- CCNA (or equivalent) certified
- Two (2) to three (3) years of related experience in Incident Management and diagnosing and resolving issues
- Knowledge of Information Security and Risk Management
- Certification in ITIL v4
