TSTC is seeking a Network Engineer to design and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high reliability and security for federal agencies. Ideal for candidates with strong networking skills and experience in network automation.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure.
Ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of LAN/WAN systems, routers, firewalls, and switches.
Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues and manage system upgrades.
Collaborate with IT teams to support business objectives.
Develop network standards, conceptual/logical designs, business cases, ROI analyses, and requirements documentation.
Conduct market research, trade studies, proofs-of-concept, and technology evaluations/insertions in complex environments.
Maintain EOL tracking, refresh planning, and BOM development.
Involve in stakeholder collaboration, requirements gathering, and presenting architectural recommendations for approval.
Demonstrate deep expertise in enterprise networking technologies (routing, switching, SD-WAN, wireless, security, cloud/hybrid connectivity, etc.).
Develop proficiency in documentation tools and standards (e.g., SDDs, AoA, trade study reports).
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
2–5+ years of experience in network administration or engineering.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VLANs).
Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of network engineering with a focus on network automation.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and VLANs.
Proficiency in network automation and orchestration tools, such as Ansible, NetBox, or SaltStack.
Hands-on experience with SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI or VMware NSX.
Expertise in programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby, for scripting and automation purposes.
Experience with API integration and RESTful services for interacting with network devices and platforms.
Knowledge of network monitoring and performance tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
