About the role
- Senior ICT Engineer leading technology initiatives and solutions at ADAPTIT. Overseeing IT infrastructure and team development in a hybrid workplace.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, administration, and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Manage Azure AD and Azure environments, including identity, access, and cloud services.
- Configure and administer Microsoft 365 / Office 365 services.
- Oversee server configuration, administration, and patch management (on-premises and virtualized).
- Design, operate, and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
- Deploy and manage/maintain on prem packaged solutions in containerised solutions over different operating systems (MS Windows/Linux) (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker Swarm K3s etc)
- Manage storage solutions (DELL Unity, Unisphere, OpenNAS, Openmedia vault) ensuring performance, availability, and scalability.
- Design and maintain backup and recovery solutions (e.g. Veeam, Acronis, Commvault), including regular testing of restore procedures.
- Collaborate on networking design and operations, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across environments.
- Act as technical lead and subject-matter expert for the ICT team.
- Mentor, coach, and support team members in their technical and professional development.
- Promote knowledge sharing, documentation, and best practices across the team.
- Assist in task prioritization, workload planning, and day-to-day coordination.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and management, translating business needs into technical solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Approx. 7-10 years of experience in ICT engineering and management, demonstrating a progression of responsibility.
- Proven leadership experience, managing and mentoring teams in a technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN), security protocols, cloud technologies, virtualization, and IT infrastructures.
- Solid understanding of best practices for IT governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the capacity to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Greek.
- Certifications such as PMP, CCNP, Azure Administrator Associate, or relevant technical certifications are an advantage.
