About the role
- Manager of Photometric Testing overseeing daily operations for photometric testing at Acuity Brands in Decatur, GA. Collaborating with engineering teams, managing lab accreditation, and performing tests.
Responsibilities
- Leads and oversees laboratory technicians (30%)
- Performs photometric tests (30%)
- Reviews and approves photometric tests (15%)
- Works with optical engineers and value streams to develop photometric test plans (10%)
- Maintains laboratory accreditation (5%)
- Maintains, identifies, and meets equipment needs (5%)
- Engages in committee work with IES (5%)
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
- Six year’s experience in technical role with at least two years of management preferred, preferably in testing laboratories accredited under ISO 17025
- Understanding of the science of light and photometry required
- A firm knowledge and experience with IES test methods. Ability to interpret and apply new test methods as needed.
- Experience with test equipment including integrating spheres, goniometers, power analyzers, power supplies (AC and DC), and other types of equipment used for photometric testing
- Knowledge and experience with ISO 17025
- Proficient with SharePoint software, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and other Windows applications
- Experience in working on industry committees developing test procedures for photometric testing preferred; NCQLP LC Certified preferred
