About the role
- Operative Buyer managing the sourcing processes for plastic components and materials. Working across departments and ensuring quality and service in manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage the entire operational procurement process for plastic parts, semi-finished products and raw materials
- Request and evaluate quotations, place orders and handle complaints/claims
- Maintain and further develop a dedicated supplier base in plastic processing and polymer technology
- Serve as the operational interface between internal departments (e.g., Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance) and suppliers
- Ensure quality, cost, delivery and service in line with the requirements of plastic manufacturing
- Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes as well as supplier performance and development
- Support projects such as material substitution or sustainability initiatives in the plastics area
Requirements
- Completed commercial training, ideally with additional qualification in procurement or a technical certification
- Professional experience in operational purchasing, preferably in the plastics industry or plastic processing sector
- Confident user of MS Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Technical understanding of plastics, their properties and processing methods
- Organizational talent, negotiation skills and a structured, solution-oriented way of working
- Hands-on mentality, team player and strong communication skills
- Good German language skills, both written and spoken; English skills are an advantage
