About the role

  • Senior Manager Quality leading innovation and compliance in engineering processes at DRS. Overseeing quality actions and mentoring professionals to enhance product reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a culture of innovation within DRS Quality teams championing the deployment of superior processes
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and programs to enforce quality standards and enhance product reliability
  • Mentor and inspire a team of quality professionals to achieve excellence
  • Lead internal Quality communication programs and processes
  • Lead APEX opportunities across the Quality function and LOB driving improvements in processes
  • Identify systematic problems and coordinate corrective actions
  • Bring all compliance issues to the attention of management
  • Lead and develop our Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Perform direct coordination with customer and suppliers during early planning phases of development and production programs
  • Act as Lead Auditor and conduct internal company audits including management of corrective action process
  • Manage budget and department expenses
  • Develop and review quality assurance cost estimates in support of proposal efforts
  • Assist in the development and approval of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical field
  • minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
  • Passion for precision, safety, and operational excellence
  • Ability to lead effective corrective action using disciplined problem solving methods and statistical analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 Standards
  • ISO Lead Auditor experience desired; certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification desired
  • ASQ certification desired
  • U.S. Citizenship required
