Responsibilities
Establish a culture of innovation within DRS Quality teams championing the deployment of superior processes
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and programs to enforce quality standards and enhance product reliability
Mentor and inspire a team of quality professionals to achieve excellence
Lead internal Quality communication programs and processes
Lead APEX opportunities across the Quality function and LOB driving improvements in processes
Identify systematic problems and coordinate corrective actions
Bring all compliance issues to the attention of management
Lead and develop our Quality Management System (QMS)
Perform direct coordination with customer and suppliers during early planning phases of development and production programs
Act as Lead Auditor and conduct internal company audits including management of corrective action process
Manage budget and department expenses
Develop and review quality assurance cost estimates in support of proposal efforts
Assist in the development and approval of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical field
minimum of 7 years of experience
Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
Passion for precision, safety, and operational excellence
Ability to lead effective corrective action using disciplined problem solving methods and statistical analysis
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 Standards
ISO Lead Auditor experience desired; certification preferred
Six Sigma Black Belt certification desired
ASQ certification desired
