About the role

  • Business Analyst managing analysis activities for Inchcape Shipping Services. Conducting validation workshops and translating business needs into structured documentation for project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

  • Own and be accountable for all business analysis activities and outcomes within the team.
  • Conduct discovery sessions and workshops with stakeholders to elicit and validate business needs.
  • Facilitate playback and validation workshops – with business users and other product teams alike - to confirm understanding and alignment on deliverables.
  • Apply a range of business analysis techniques to elicit, elaborate, and manage business, product, and system-level requirements.
  • Perform functional decomposition to translate business needs into Epics and User Stories.
  • Produce and maintain structured documentation including: Business Requirements, Functional & Non-Functional Requirements, Interface/Integration Requirements, Transition Requirements.
  • Document current (AS-IS) and future (TO-BE) business processes using process maps and detailed narratives.
  • Identify pain points, business goals, benefits, and expected outcomes.
  • Conduct gap and impact analysis to assess change implications.
  • Analyse and document data flow requirements across systems, including transitions and transformations.
  • Document user flows from a goal-oriented perspective, detailing step-by-step system interactions understandable by all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with developers and technical teams to ensure business needs are accurately translated into technical designs.
  • Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in resolving complex production issues and support solution implementation.
  • Support key functional and integration testing activities.
  • Validate deliverables against requirements and assist in defect triage and resolution.
  • Prepare SOPs and training/user guides for new features and functionalities.
  • Deliver user training and support change implementation across impacted teams.
  • Contribute to the growth and standardization of the Business Analysis practice.
  • Provide insights and suggestions to improve business processes and digital solutions based on deep domain understanding.
  • Assist in identifying, managing, and tracking risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Degree educated
  • 8+ years of proven business analysis experience
  • Business Analysis certification - CBAP/CCBA, or BUSA level 4 and above
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Draw.io, Lucid chart, Enterprise Architect
  • Visual modelling techniques – BPMN, UML 2.0 and above
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, development team roles, and engineering processes.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and ways of working
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile, SAFe, ITIL etc)
  • Been part of a large-sized global IT Business Analysis Team
  • Experience in DevOps, Production Support.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Highly adaptable, strong prioritization and ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
