About the role

  • Work with Acosta’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing, Global Leadership Team, and other senior leaders to understand and communicate business strategies internally and externally.
  • Develop and oversee or support the implementation of corporate strategies around:
  • Brand messaging, architecture, promise, identity
  • Corporate marketing (elements of advertising, creative, promotional materials, website)
  • Public relations (media relations, crisis communication, CSR)
  • Internal communication (executive messaging, intranet, organizational messaging)
  • Event planning (leadership meetings, town halls, industry events)
  • Build and amplify Acosta’s value proposition and brand narrative through features, executive profiles, case studies, and digital campaigns.
  • Partner with senior executives and subject matter experts to uncover thought leadership opportunities and position Acosta as a trusted voice in retail and CPG innovation.
  • Represent Acosta’s thought leadership in the grocery and retail trade ecosystem through partnerships with industry associations and high-profile events.
  • Drive associate engagement and alignment through knowledge-sharing content that celebrates innovation, transformation, and purpose.
  • Ensure integration of corporate branding and messaging across all materials and divisions.
  • Develop, review, and implement company-wide communications policies and procedures.
  • Budget management.
  • Co-lead and develop the Communications staff to advance the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 15+ years of experience in corporate communications, preferably with a national or global organization.
  • Proven experience as a journalist or corporate storyteller with a track record of industry-defining features or enterprise reporting—preferably in grocery, retail, or consumer goods.
  • Strong experience with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Setting a strategic vision.
  • Experience exercising judgment to manage performance and prioritize opportunities.
  • Exceptional writing, interviewing, and editorial judgment.
  • Deep understanding of media dynamics, digital content strategy, and cross-channel publishing.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks and lead/direct the work of others.
  • Strong writing and planning skills.
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical and strategic thinker.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Creativity and adaptability.
  • Ability to promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Poise and professionalism to engage at every level—from the frontline to the C-suite.
