About the role
- Technical Writer Co-op creating clear documentation for users and networking at BlueCat. Collaborating with product management and development teams to support user needs in Adaptive DNS.
Responsibilities
- Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation;
- Talk with Product Managers and Product Developers, and study early product builds;
- Work with UX designers and product developers to ensure that UI text (field labels, error messages, etc.) are meaningful and error-free;
- Get hands-on with the product to ensure accurate documentation;
- Develop customer-facing documentation for new products and features, including content, charts, illustrations, etc.;
- Integrate documentation into product builds;
- Review existing documentation, and recommend edits and reorganization;
- Standardize content across platforms and media;
- Gather usability feedback Collaborate with teams across the company including Customer Success, Marketing, and Learning and Development;
Requirements
- Strong English speaking and writing skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Working towards a university degree or college diploma in English, Business, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
- Familiarity with DITA-OT, oXygen XML Author, and related tools and techniques would be an asset
- Familiarity CSS, HTML, Javadoc, Markdown, Sphinx, PostMan, and/or Python would be an asset
- Networking knowledge/experience would be an asset
