Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and conduct technical audits and inspections at DOE and laboratory sites to assess compliance with EPA and DOE quality standards
- Lead teams of inspectors and subject-matter experts in evaluating radiological characterization processes and QA documentation
- Develop and implement inspection plans, lines of inquiry, and technical checklists in coordination with EPA Task Order Managers
- Oversee preparation of draft and final inspection/audit reports ensuring technical accuracy, 508-compliance, and timely submission
- Provide expert consultation to EPA on QA program evaluation, inspection methodology, and waste certification compliance
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, Radiological Science, Environmental Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s + 4 yrs or Bachelor’s + 8 yrs may substitute)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with DOE nuclear operations, waste characterization, or QA/QC program management
- Expertise in ASME NQA-1, EPA QA/R-5, and radiological inspection protocols
- Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating federal technical inspections
- Active DOE Q-Clearance required; only candidates with current clearance will be considered
