Responsibilities

• Define a comprehensive data strategy that ensures consistent reporting capabilities while empowering data-driven underwriting decisions
• Bridge Operations and Technical groups to design and implement data strategies for underwriting process
• Gather business insights, build data pipelines, ensure data quality, and enable analytics to optimize risk assessment
• Collaborate with operations stakeholders to gather insights, define requirements, and translate them into technical specifications
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using approved tools and integrate data sources for underwriting analytics
• Implement validation processes to ensure compliant, high-quality data
• Create data models, flow diagrams, and documentation using tools like LucidChart, Confluence
• Work with the delivery stream in agile teams to deploy scalable solutions
• Support the Build of dashboards (e.g., Tableau) for real-time underwriting insights
• Identify and resolve data bottlenecks to enhance efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or business-related field
• 3+ years as a Business Analyst or a similar role, with 1-2 years in data engineering
• Proficiency in SQL
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Exceptional communication skills for frequent business interactions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in underwriting, new business or risk management data strategies
• Strong quantitative orientation, analytical skills, and seasoned judgment as well as a high level of intellectual curiosity and tolerance for navigating ambiguity
• Ability to manage own priorities and adapt quickly to changes
• Desire to learn and ability to apply learnings to business issues
• Self-starter with proven ability to organize and direct quality work efforts
