Responsibilities
Manage cross-border tax issues, transfer pricing, and the tax implications of international business transactions.
Identify opportunities for tax optimization and operational efficiencies. Drive initiatives that enhance our overall tax position.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution of tax strategies.
Work closely with finance, legal, and business units to provide tax insights and support strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with outside tax advisors and tax counsel, as needed, to ensure effective tax support and guidance.
Oversee and manage tax compliance preparation workstreams.
Stay ahead of changes in tax regulations and adjust our strategies accordingly.
Leverage AI to perform tasks including tax research, summarizing technical concepts, and completing day-to-day tax activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or related field.
A CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification.
7+ years of experience in tax planning, with a significant portion focused on Canadian tax systems and cross-border experience with the US.
Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax concepts.
Have experience working directly with taxing authorities on audit resolution,
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and identify tax implications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
A proven track record of managing cross-functional projects with multiple dependencies in a fast-paced environment
Have the ability to use AI to scale tax operational efficiency
