About the role

  • Ensure timely and accurate income tax compliance reporting to tax authorities for Canadian investment funds.
  • Support the team on fund distributions and allocations.
  • Review Canadian trust, corporation, and partnership tax returns and notices of assessment.
  • Perform monthly monitoring on investment funds to prevent adverse tax consequences.
  • Review and complete documentation for fund investments in foreign markets.
  • Review withholding tax rates applied by fund custodians.
  • Support internal and external tax audits.
  • Maintain investment fund lists.
  • Perform analysis to support recommendations on fund launches, mergers, terminations, and portfolio rebalancing.
  • Provide tax advisory services to the business on fund initiatives, including new fund launches, mergers and terminations, and structured products.

  • CPA designation is a significant asset.
  • Well-developed skills in accounting, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Over 2 years of relevant experience in taxation.
  • Knowledge of the investment fund industry is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks with overlapping deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Ability to build solutions in Power BI and/or Alteryx is an asset.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required - The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.
