About the role

  • Conduct operational and compliance-related audits for the US Card and Auto Finance businesses
  • Perform risk assessments of business activities and perform relevant testing based on identified risks and processes
  • Assist in communicating issues, risks and recommendations to all levels of management
  • Operate independently and ensure work is completed to schedule and meets high-quality standards
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key business partners and the extended Audit group
  • Leverage available data and analytical tools during the planning and fieldwork phases of audit delivery
  • Proactively follow-up on agreed audit actions to ensure management delivers their commitments
  • Proactively seek out learning opportunities to enhance skills and competencies related to the role
  • Coach, lead by example, and invest in the development and retention of audit team talent

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in auditing, accounting, financial analysis, risk management, compliance, or a combination
  • Master’s Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Information Systems, or MBA (preferred)
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or professional services firm serving large banks (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience performing data analysis in support of internal auditing (preferred)
  • Ability to leverage data analytics and analytical tools
  • Critical thinking and strong communication skills
  • Experience performing risk assessments and audit testing
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
  • Ability to work on a hybrid schedule and be onsite in one of the listed offices at least 3 days per week
