About the role

  • Lead the creation of seamless digital customer experiences and advance Service Design across the Group
  • Lead a team of designers, researchers and strategists, and lead a design squad owning relationships with Senior and Lab Product owners
  • Work as part of agile teams to uncover priorities, visualise outcomes, and define scope
  • Provide thought leadership and be subject matter expert in design thinking methods
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions, ensuring business context, needs and risks are understood
  • Communicate with colleagues and internal customers to manage expectations and incorporate multiple perspectives
  • Research and document current-state services and communicate future-state services
  • Lead others to make good design decisions, challenge constraints and bring user perspective to the forefront
  • Take ownership for personal and team development through coaching and mentoring
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product owners and engineers and contribute to the design community

Requirements

  • Experience leading a team of designers, researchers and strategists
  • Comfortable in needs definition, journey mapping, blueprinting and storytelling
  • Experience researching and documenting current-state and future-state services
  • Highly experienced in ‘design thinking’ methods
  • Experience in research methods to inform design choices
  • Experience facilitating workshops and discussions with internal customers
  • Ability to work effectively and confidently as part of agile teams
  • Strong relationship building skills and experience engaging senior stakeholders
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and developing others
  • Exceptional communication skills with senior, technical and non-technical audiences
