Serve as a senior associate in RSM’s Financial Services Risk Consulting Practice working with clients in the middle market
Learn about clients’ financial services businesses and become a trusted advisor
Interact with client process owners and external stakeholders while executing engagements
Participate in and lead risk assessment interviews and update risk assessment models
Prepare and conduct tests of operating effectiveness of clients’ internal controls
Draft test plans or work programs and create/review process narratives and flowcharts
Identify and review risks and controls for processes and perform first-level review of staff work
Prepare/review client request lists, initial drafts of reports, and follow-ups on client requests
Manage budgets, provide accurate estimate analysis, and complete status documents for client delivery
Coach and implement foundational industry policies and work-programs; mentor and review associates
Support multiple client projects simultaneously and participate in business development and industry events
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or related business discipline
Minimum of 2 years of experience in audit, internal audit, or related internal control positions
2 years of experience working for a capital markets, asset management or specialty lending institution, consulting firm, or regulatory agency in internal audit, model validation, or controls testing (preferred)
Proficiency in professional writing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools
Exposure to data analytics tools (preferred)
Qualified to pursue a job-relevant certification (e.g. CPA, CIA)
Ability to travel to meet client needs
Openness to workday flexibility, agility, and remote work environment
Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Effective time management and prioritization skills
