About the role
- Senior Quality Engineer at Katalon driving automation-first testing and collaborating with development teams. Enhancing product quality while optimizing test efficiency and coverage in a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive Automation-First Testing: Implement and maintain an automation-first testing approach to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability across complex platform architectures.
- Dogfood Katalon Products: Use Katalon’s tools in real-world scenarios to evaluate their effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, and provide actionable feedback to enhance product quality.
- Champion Shift-Left Testing: Collaborate with developers and product managers early in the development cycle to improve testability, define quality metrics, and ensure robust coverage.
- Agile Collaboration: Actively engage in Scrum ceremonies, provide accurate estimates for testing tasks, and ensure testing aligns with sprint goals and deliverables.
- Customer-Centric Quality: Work closely with Customer Support and Development teams to investigate reported issues, reproduce defects, and drive timely resolutions.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Explore and apply modern testing techniques, tools, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, cloud-based testing) to optimize test efficiency and coverage.
Requirements
- Testing Expertise: Strong understanding of test methodologies (functional, non-functional, regression) with a focus on automation-driven quality assurance.
- Automation Experience: 5+ years of experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using tools like Katalon, Cypress, or Playwright, emphasizing scalability and maintainability.
- Programming Proficiency: Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) with experience in Groovy, Java, or Python.
- Web, Mobile & API Testing: Proven experience testing web, mobile (iOS/Android), and API services (RESTful), using tools such as Postman or custom scripts.
- CI/CD and Cloud Integration: Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Azure Pipelines) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- AI Testing Awareness: Understanding of testing AI-driven features and integrating AI into test workflows.
- Agile Mindset: Hands-on experience working in Agile (Scrum or SAFe) environments, contributing to iterative development cycles.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Strong English communication skills, capable of articulating testing insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bonus Points: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in security or performance testing (e.g., K6, JMeter).
- Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms (LambdaTest, Kobiton, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
- PSM I certification or equivalent Agile/Scrum credential.
