• Nuclear Engineer managing power uprate projects in Nuclear Generation Department at Duke Energy. Overseeing supplemental engineering teams and ensuring project compliance and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• manages specialized work within the Nuclear Generation Department, supporting power uprate projects at Catawba, McGuire, and Brunswick.
• provides direct oversight and integration of supplemental engineers (including contract, vendor, and temporary staff) to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and in compliance with company standards.
• Develops and maintains positive working relationships with site, corporate teammates, and supplemental engineering staff to effectively coordinate work activities.
• Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems, including those arising from supplemental engineering deliverables.
• Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.

Requirements

• Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience for Nuclear Engineer III.
• Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Nuclear Engineer.
• Experience overseeing supplemental engineering teams or contract/vendor staff in the commercial nuclear sector.
• Experience with onboarding, training, and integrating supplemental engineers into project teams.
• Experience with quality assurance and compliance review of external engineering deliverables.
• Proficient in principles of project management, including coordination of internal and supplemental resources.
