About the role

  • Responsible for development and maintenance of CAD/CAM/Simulation system, CLC methodology CNC programs, tooling, and processes.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining product/systems to support manufacturing and business needs.
  • Initiates improvements in product/systems and automate processes to improve products safety, quality, schedule, performance and to reduce manufacturing and operating costs.
  • Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations.
  • Utilizes computer-aided design equipment (CAD, CAM) and/or graphic simulation and optimization tools, such as CATIA, ProEngineer, Solidworks, MasterCam, Esprit, Siemens NX, Vericut Softwares.
  • Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, simulates and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposals.
  • Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
  • Generates manufacturing process, CNC programs, simulates them in a virtual environment and develops close loop system for assigned facilities.
  • Completes activities of Lean Sigma projects and process improvements.
  • Troubleshoots a variety of moderate to highly complex CNC programming and tooling problems on the virtual environment and production floor for new and mature product lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 4+ years of Engineering experience in a high tech manufacturing environment providing direct manufacturing process support OR Master’s Degree and 2+ years of experience OR PhD
  • Nice to Have Medical device industry experience
  • GD&T Certification
  • Green Belt Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • CAM simulation experience
