About the role
- Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Medtronic leading development and maintenance of CAD/CAM/Simulation systems. Focused on improving manufacturing processes and product systems with cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for development and maintenance of CAD/CAM/Simulation system, CLC methodology CNC programs, tooling, and processes.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining product/systems to support manufacturing and business needs.
- Initiates improvements in product/systems and automate processes to improve products safety, quality, schedule, performance and to reduce manufacturing and operating costs.
- Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations.
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment (CAD, CAM) and/or graphic simulation and optimization tools, such as CATIA, ProEngineer, Solidworks, MasterCam, Esprit, Siemens NX, Vericut Softwares.
- Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, simulates and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposals.
- Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
- Generates manufacturing process, CNC programs, simulates them in a virtual environment and develops close loop system for assigned facilities.
- Completes activities of Lean Sigma projects and process improvements.
- Troubleshoots a variety of moderate to highly complex CNC programming and tooling problems on the virtual environment and production floor for new and mature product lines.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree
- 4+ years of Engineering experience in a high tech manufacturing environment providing direct manufacturing process support OR Master’s Degree and 2+ years of experience OR PhD
- Nice to Have Medical device industry experience
- GD&T Certification
- Green Belt Certification
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Ability to travel as needed
- CAM simulation experience
