About the role
- Project Engineer supporting mechanical construction on a critical water treatment plant project. Collaborating with engineers and subcontractors to ensure project compliance and safety.
Responsibilities
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of the mechanical package
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate daily activities of mechanical subcontractors with field supervision.
- Track quantities, production, and installation progress.
- Support inspections, testing, and quality control documentation.
- Assist with the procurement of mechanical equipment and tracking of long-lead items.
- Support cost tracking, forecasting, and change management activities.
- Participate in startup, commissioning, and system turnover activities.
- Promote jobsite safety and compliance with project safety plans.
Requirements
- 26 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role.
- Experience supporting mechanical scopes on water or wastewater treatment facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and specifications.
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, piping systems, and treatment process equipment.
- Basic understanding of commissioning, testing, and system turnover.
- Working knowledge of construction cost control and change management.
