Responsibilities
Develop and implement a global packaging strategy aligned with operational, sustainability, and cost goals.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in packaging design, materials selection, and process standardization.
Define and maintain regional packaging guidelines and testing standards across multiple manufacturing sites.
Lead packaging design and validation for heavy-duty and outdoor-use products, including wood, plywood, and corrosion-protected materials.
Launch returnable and reusable packaging programs to minimize waste and improve lifecycle efficiency.
Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, logistics, and operations to deliver optimized packaging performance.
Transition packaging ownership from suppliers to internal teams to build in-house design and validation capability.
Manage and mentor a global packaging team located across the U.S., Asia, and other regions.
Monitor global packaging trends and implement innovative technologies and sustainable materials.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
10+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing packaging, preferably in automotive, renewable energy, oil & gas, or packaging solution providers.
Expertise in returnable/reusable packaging systems, material testing, and packaging validation.
Demonstrated success leading global or remote teams across multiple time zones.
Strong understanding of packaging for industrial, heavy, or outdoor applications.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
Willingness to travel globally (up to 25%) to suppliers and project sites.
