About the role

  • External client-facing role supporting asset, organizational, financial, infrastructure funding, economic, and technology consulting services to local governments and utilities in North America
  • Serve as a primary member of multiple teams at client meetings, including interactive use of analytical tools and facilitating workshops
  • Serve as client account manager and project manager for client engagements, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Work dynamically with project teams to identify best-fit solutions to complex business, strategic, infrastructure, and operational issues
  • Lead the project team in interactive meetings with clients to identify and analyze issues affecting their organizations and stakeholders
  • Maintain and grow client relationships and lead business development efforts responding to client requests, RFQs, and RFPs
  • Serve as an independent reviewer of analysis prepared by peers or junior staff to ensure technical accuracy and appropriateness of methods and tools
  • Meet performance goals and objectives, mentor and train junior staff, and complete required training activities

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of and interest in local government organizational structure, budgeting / reporting, infrastructure funding, and types of services they provide
  • Working knowledge and understanding of federal funding programs and policies and state funding programs and policies in targeted geographies including Florida
  • Working experience in consulting related to infrastructure funding, economics, pricing, financial analysis and/or working for local government agencies
  • Knowledge of and experience with local government funding mechanisms, infrastructure policy, and legal requirements
  • Water infrastructure funding and cost recovery experience in Florida
  • Direct work experience/history with local government agencies and community-based organizations
  • Elements of project management experience, including preparing and managing project scope, schedule, team activities, communication, and deliverables
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro and other business systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Capable of presenting/sharing analyses in an interactive work setting while being able to make adjustments in a live setting
  • Self-starter capable of efficiently and proactively working independently as well as with a geographically dispersed team on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Management experience and the ability to directly manage staff and to manage large and diverse project teams to deliver client projects
  • Strong sense of Team and willingness to take on additional responsibility
  • Strong attention to details as deliverables are open to public review and scrutiny
  • Willing to travel as needed; travel may be initially 10-15%, potentially growing up to 25%
  • Requires a satisfactory driving record
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, mathematics, finance, economics, statistics, data science, engineering, accounting, or related fields required; Master’s Degree is a plus
  • 10+ years total post-undergraduate working experience
