About the role

  • Develops and executes the overall continuous improvement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and operational excellence across all teams.
  • Identifies where immediate fixes are sufficient vs. where deeper root cause remediation is required.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops a team of 2–3 continuous improvement professionals.
  • Provides mentorship in structured problem-solving tools and methods.
  • Sets priorities, tracks progress and measures the impact of improvement efforts.
  • Partners with Clinical, Quality, IT, Operations, and Program Management to align priorities.
  • Facilitates structured problem-solving workshops and Kaizen events.
  • Ensures learning from issues are shared and implemented across the organization to prevent recurrence.
  • Applies Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams).
  • Analyzes and interpret data to identify trends, evaluate solutions, and measure impact.
  • Utilizes reporting tools (Excel, BI dashboards, etc.) to track progress and communicate outcomes.
  • Develops and delivers regular updates to leadership on progress, value creation, and emerging risks.
  • Escalates issues as needed and recommends solutions that balance speed, sustainability, and value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or related roles.
  • Prior healthcare, pharmacy, or highly regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional improvement efforts that delivered measurable results.
  • Strong familiarity with or certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and change management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage direct reports and foster a high-performance team environment.
  • Skilled in project/program management with a track record of driving initiatives to closure.
